Arthritis pain: Is chiropractic treatment right for you?

August 28, 2023

About half of all adults ages 65 and older have reported receiving an arthritis diagnosis, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This painful inflammation of the joints can lead to restricted mobility and a lower quality of life, leading many people to resort to prescription or over the counter medications for relief. Our family chiropractor at Springfield Chiropractic Clinic has successfully treated patients using techniques that can take the edge off osteoarthritis pain — naturally, and without potentially harmful drugs — and can keep the condition from becoming worse.

Whether osteoarthritis is affecting your neck, back, arms or legs, our chiropractor can gently manipulate the soft tissue surrounding the affected joints to relieve tenderness and stop muscle spasms. Our hands-on healing may include stretching muscles and joints to promote improved range of motion, or using massage therapy or ultrasound.

A visit with our chiropractor is about more than your symptoms. We don’t apply our methods without first getting the full picture of each patient. Before we ever employ hands-on techniques, we’ll sit down for an in-depth talk about your medical and family history, diet, sleep and exercise habits. We’ll carefully examine the way you walk, sit and stand, and may take X-Rays to get a clearer picture of your condition.

We’ll discuss what our treatment entails, and take time to answer any questions before we start. We ask our patients to understand that chiropractic does not promise a quick fix. It will take several sessions to realize lasting results, but many patients are pleased to let us know that they begin receiving relief from their symptoms after their very first visit.

Chiropractic methods have been found to be effective at relieving pain as well as keeping our patients’ arthritis from becoming worse. If you need treatment for arthritis pain, but want to avoid surgery and potentially harmful medication, please contact Springfield Chiropractic Clinic for an appointment!
